Point off Banking (POB)- Don't want to pay the high processing fees that come with a merchant account? Tired of paying credit card processing fees? Been rejected because you have a dispensary and are considered a high-risk merchant? With Point of Banking (POB), a cashelss ATM, you can accept credit/debit card payments.
Also called cashless ATMs, POB machines are similar to the traditional cash ATM machines but they do not dispense any cash. Instead, a withdrawal is made from the customer's checking account and electronically deposited into the merchant's account. A receipt is then printed which can be used to make purchases in the store..
There are many people who can not qualify for a credit card. With the addition of a POB cashless ATM machine in your Alaska business you provide a convenience to those customers as you save them a trip the bank for cash. You also don't have to worry about having large sums of cash in your business.
There are several reasons why you should use a POB cashless ATM in your dispensary. Customers must enter a PIN code to complete a purchase so chargebacks and fraud are avoided. When your machine arrives we will have it programmed for your business and ready to go as soon as it is plugged in. When customers use your POB cashless ATM machine money is directly transferred into your account and they pay the transaction fee.

A POB system looks like a countertop credit card terminal but acts like a cash ATM machine. The client pays the processing (surcharge fee) not the store owner. The POB machine prints a receipt that verifies the debit from their account and the transaction is completed like any other cash purchase - providing change if the total charge is not in a $5 increment. Transactions are discreet with the customer's band statement shown as "ATM Withdrawal."
No. We are upfront with any costs associated with the POB machine. We will set up one POB machine in your company for FREE. Once your paperwork has been accepted it will take about 10 business days to program the POB machine to your business specifications. Then it will take 1-3 business days for shipping to Alaska.
Charges to POB machines are in $5 increments. If a client purchase comes to $46 they would be charged at $50 and receive $4 cash back from the merchant. The maximum amount a client can charge to their ATM or debit card depends on the agreement they have with their bank. Generally, it can be anywhere around $400.
If the power goes out the POB service will shut down. It will not save any transactions that it might have been working on during the shut down. If you still have internet access during the power outage you can still use the POB machine if you have battery backup.
